Boer War 6th Contingent(from the Canadian Almanck, 1903) Enlistment was for 12 months or until termination of war. Comprising the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Regts. C.M.R., with a total strength of 107 officers, 1,965 N.C. officers and men, 2,238 horses. This included a draft of one officer (Lieut. H.J. Woodside) and 28 men for the 2nd Regt. C.M.R.; also one supernumerary medical officer to the 3rd and 5th Regts. C.M.R. (Capt. Lorne Drum, A.M.S., and 2nd Lieut. Russell Thomas, respectively). The 3rd Regt. sailed from Halifax on SS. Cestrian, 8th May, 1902; arrived at Cape Town on 31st idem. Two sqds. of the 4th Regt. and the 6th Regt. sailed from Halifax on SS. Winifredian, 17th May, 1902; arrived at Cape Town 8th June, 1902. Hd. Qrs., two sqds. of the 4th Regt., and the 5th Regt. sailed from Halifax on SS. Corinthian, 23rd May, 1902; arrived at Cape Town, 18th June, 1902. The officers were:-
