New class for AFHS members


(Time to register is running out!)


The Education Committee is offering a course for AFHS members on immigration and land records. This will be offered on Sunday, February 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the AFHS Library (712 - 16 Avenue NW).


You will learn how to find records and what they can tell you about your ancestors. You will have time to search on AFHS computers with individual assistance from the presenters.

DNA SIG is becoming very popular


Our newly-formed DNA Special Interest Group (SIG) has already held two meetings, which were very well attended. To help spread the word, we have decided to publish its very first publication, the January 2015 edition of Thermometer. If you have any questions, please . Enjoy!


New BMD database records uploaded!


For researchers who use our databases, we have added over 800 new records to our BMD (births, marriages and deaths) database. The new records are from the Calgary Daily Herald from 1904.
