Tips
To using MrSid effectively:
To figuring out the handwriting:
- Carol Lylyk writes: If it is a rural area, see if there is
a Land description given for that person. I found several names
by going to the National
Archives Land Grants site and by putting in the Section, Township
and Range. When you see the name there and look at what is written
on the census image it is easier to make out what the enumerator
was trying to write.
