SCOPICK - Serainna Marissa Michelle-Lee.
Marissa was born April 1, 1997 and passed away suddenly on June 6, 1997
of respiratory problems. Even though Marissa was only with us for a very
short time, she will be lovingly remembered by her father Tony and her mother
Sharon. Marissa will also be sadly missed by her twin brother Chance as
well as numerous other family members. God saw you getting tired, The cure
was not to be. So He closed His arms around you And whispered "Come
with Me". You suffered much in silence Your spirit did not bend. You
faced your pain with courage Until the very end. You tried so hard to stay
with us Your fight was all in vain God took you to His loving home And freed

SCOTT - James Edward Scott, of Calgary, passed away at the Bethany Care
Centre on June 11, 1997 at the age of 92 years. He is survived by his
loving daughter Mary (Henry) Schaap of Calgary; son-in-law Ray Kerr of
Surrey, BC; four granddaughters, Heather, Joanne, Deanna and Tracy; and
two great-grandchildren, Claire and Robert. Jim is also survived by his
brother, sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his
loving wife Myrtle and his daughter Doreen Kerr. Jim was born in Antler,
NWT in 1904. He moved to Red Deer as a child. Jim married Myrtle Albert
in Red Deer in 1929, then they moved to Calgary in 1934 where he resided
till his passing. Jim worked for Canadian Pacific Railway for forty-seven
years, till his retirement. He spent his winters in Arizona for fifteen
years, with his wife Myrtle. Jim had resided in the Bethany Care Centre
for the last seven years. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel
at MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Interment
to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, memorial

SCOTT - Leslie Eleanor Scott, age 83 years, passed away at the Fanning
Centre, November 21, 1997. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Lynne (Allan)
Paul and Jamie Scott of Calgary, she is also survived by three grandchildren,
Brad and Brent Connors, and Kevin Scott. A Celebration of Life will be
held at the residence of Lynne and Allan Paul, 88 Woodmont Drive S.W.,

SCOTT - Phylis Bernice Mae (Bernie) Scott of Calgary, passed away peacefully
at the Rockyview General Hospital on September 12, 1997, at the age of
73 years. Phylis is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Norman
and Bertha Scott of Ebb & Flow, Manitoba, Stephen and Kathy Scott
of Irricana, Alberta; and a daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Doug
Berinecutt of Calgary; eight grandchildren, Becky, David, Candy, Karl,
Doug, Chelsey, Andrea and Michael. She is also survived by numerous brothers,

SCOTT - Ralph Mitchell, late of Vancouver, B.C., passed away peacefully
on Saturday, May 31, 1997 at the age of 61 years. Predeceased by his parents,
William and Maemi, and brother D'Arcy, he is survived by his loving family

SCOTT - William A. (Bill), beloved husband of Mrs. Orla Scott for fifty-six
years, passed awayat the Rosedale Hospice on December 27, 1997 at the
age of 77 years. Bill is survived by hischildren, Bryan (Brenda) Scott,
Bonnie (Doug) Cranston, Cheryl (Bruce) Haight, all of Calgary;his grandchildren,
Elisse Bagnall, Brett Scott, James and Colleen Cranston, and Ryan and
CaitlinHaight; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Marcus, Brandon and Justin.
He is also survived by hisbrothers, Earl, Emerson, Glen, Vince; and by
his sisters, Lena and Florence, all of Ontario. He ispredeceased by his
parents, William Robert and Annie Scott, his brothers, Raymond and Guy,and
his sister Lila. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of MOUNTAIN

SEAMAN - Donna Marie, beloved wife and best friend of Dennis, passed
away at the Rockyview Hospital on November 12, 1997. She is also survived
by her daughter Lisa; sons, Shane, Jody and Kelly; grandchildren, Chelsea,
Alyx, Brittany and Casey; her sister Susan Hills (Bill); niece Sarah and
nephew Jessie; special aunt Bella Eden; daughter-in-law Sue Chambers;
sister-in-law Deb Seaman; as well as several other relatives in British
Columbia. Donna was born in Vancouver in 1942 and moved to Calgary where
she attended Viscount Bennett High School and the University of Calgary.
She taught with the Calgary Board of Education until she left to raise
her family. Her special loves in life included family, especially children,
friends, animals, plants, the ocean, reading, art and science. A life
lived in kindness, gentleness and unconditional love is the precious legacy
she leaves to family and friends. We mourn our loss but are grateful her
suffering has ended and she can now walk peacefully in the fields and
along the shores of eternity. The family wishes to express their appreciation
to the staff in I.C.U., Unit 61, Unit 74 and the P.R.E.P. Unit at Rockyview
Hospital for their efforts and compassion in caring for Donna. Special
thanks to Dr. Ziegler and Dr. Manderson. A private family Memorial Service,

SEATON - Dorothy Seaton, aged 94, passed on suddenly at the Foothills
Hospital on December28, 1997. She was predeceased by her husband Roy in
1989 and her brother Fred in 1980.Dorothy will be sadly missed by her
daughter Valerie (Patrick) Scholefield, with whom she livedfor the past
eight years; her son David (Margaret) Seaton, Taunton, England; and fivegrandchildren,
Duncan, Fiona and Alistair (England), Robert and Deborah (Calgary); as

SEDDON - Johanna Seddon of Calgary, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre
on June 21, 1997 at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her husband
Jack in 1990. A Family Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View

SEENEY - Maurice Frederick, passed away peacefully at the Agape Manor

SEGAL - Hyman Isipore (Hye), beloved husband of Minnie of Cathedral City,
California, passed away suddenly at the Desert Hospital, Palm Springs,
on May 24, 1997 at the age of 73. Besides his loving wife, Hye is survived
by three sons and two daughters. He is the loving father of Perla of Sidney,
B.C., Nathan of Vancouver, B.C., Golda-Miriam of Oslo, Norway, Perry of
Los Angeles, CA, Jamie of Moose Jaw, Sask.; one grandchild Jennifer and
husband Alex. He is also survived by his mother Rebecca; sister Gertie
Gross and husband Sam; his brother Harold and wife Val, his brother Jerry;
and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Joseph and
his sister Marjorie. Hye was a jeweller-watchmaker for forty-two years,
twenty of which were spent in Calgary as owner of Classic Jewellers Ltd.
In 1973 he was voted Jeweller of the Year for Alberta and B.C. While in
Calgary he was a member of the Beth Israel Synagogue, B'nai B'rith and
the Jewish War Veterans Association. He had a pair of talented hands and
he was willing to help anyone who needed him. He was a regular Mr. Fixit.
Wherever he lived, he always left things better than he received them.
To all of us he was a true and loyal friend. We will miss him. Funeral
Services were held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1702 - 17 Avenue S.W.
on Thursday, May 29, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at Erlton Street
Cemetery, Erlton Street and 30 Avenue S.W. In lieu of flowers, if friends

SEIDEL - Mrs. Marjorie Jean Seidel (nee West) of Calgary, passed away
peacefully into God'sloving hands on Tuesday, December 9, 1997, after
a courageous battle with cancer, at the the ageof 57 years. Born August
21, 1940 in Cranbrook, B.C., she married Gilbert Seidel and moved toCalgary
in 1962. She is survived by her loving husband Gilbert; her three daughters,
Karen andspecial friend Dan McLafferty, Jean and Michael Seymour, and
Linda; her three grandchildren,Allyson, Matthew and Lindsay Seymour; her
brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Lynn West;and numerous nieces, nephews,
other relatives and good friends. She was a loving and devotedwife, mother,
grandmother, sister and friend, and will be sadly missed by all that knew

1930 at Sunnyslope,Alberta. Died Tuesday, December 2, 1997. Predeceased
by her parents and two sisters, she issurvived by her husband Emerson;
children, Dwight of Victoria, Barry of St. Paul, AB, Dolli ofNew Westminster,
David of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren,

SEWELL - Margaret Olver (nee Binns) Sewell, known to her family and friends
as "Dot", passed away at the George Boyack Nursing Home on June
29, 1997; born July 9, 1904 in Medicine Hat, AB. She was predeceased by
her loving husband Samuel, her twin brother Richard (Dick), three brothers,
Dean, Pete, Jim, and two sisters, Jean and Marie. She is survived by her
loving daughters, Margaret and Donna and their husbands, Otto Fugmann
and Ronald Hannaford; six grandchildren, Karen and John Fee, Lynne Evans,
Diana and Raymond Turner, Sherri and Patrick Moynahan, Brian and Jo Hannaford
and Debbie and Richard Shannon; great-grandchildren, Christopher Evans,
Jason and Lorene Fee, and Chelsea Moynahan. Married on August 5, 1931
in Calgary, Dot lived her early married life in Black Diamond and Turner
Valley. In 1945, the family moved to Trinidad and Venezuela, returning
to Canada in 1950; she resided in Calgary the rest of her life. Dot received
a Provincial Medal of Recognition for her long-time Native Alberta status.
She resided the past nine years at the George Boyack Nursing Home. Those

SEXSMITH - Mr. Lawrence (Larry) Edward Sexsmith of Calgary, passed away
in Kelowna, B.C. on September 4, 1997, at the age of 78 years. Born in
Virden, Manitoba on June 15, 1919, Lawrence was Sgt. in the P.P.C.L.I.
during the Second World War. After returning from overseas, he worked
long and hard in the Oil Patch in many locations, ranging from the North
Slope of Alaska to the Birdsville Track of Australia. Larry was a member
of the R.C.L. Branch No. 276, and will be remembered by those with whom
he bent an elbow. To Lawrence's many friends and colleagues, we hope that
you will remember him with the same warmth, respect and caring that he
felt for you. Lawrence was a heck of a man and we miss him deeply. Lawrence
is survived by his loving wife Margaret; son and daughter-in-law, Larry
and Rose Sexsmith of Kelowna; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Patricia
and Marv Wagner of Kelowna, Linda and Bill Becker of Lethbridge, Barbara
and Doug Olesen of Calgary, and Sandra Sexsmith of Onoway, as well as
by grandchildren, Paul and Jodie, Adam and Julie Sexsmith, Michael Healy,
Ryan and Erin Becker, Brianne and Daniel Olesen; and three great-grandsons,
Austin, Jacob and Isaac. Larry is also survived by his brother Norman
