O'CONNOR - November 14, 1997, John Blackey O'Connor, Q.C., beloved husband
of Mrs. Lois E. O'Connor, 2409 Carleton Street S.W., Calgary, Alberta.
A private family Funeral was held on November 15, 1997 with burial in
the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if desired,

O'GRADY - Margaret "Mardie" Elizabeth O'Grady, passed away
in Calgary in the Mayfair Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at the
age of 84 years, from complications related to congestive heart failure,
beloved wife of the late Mr. Thomas O'Grady. Margaret O'Grady was born
in Calgary on August 16, 1912. She graduated from the Holy Cross Hospital
in 1933 as a registered nurse and practiced her profession for over thirty
years retiring from the Campbell Clinic in Lethbridge. She married Thomas
O'Grady in November 1939 and moved with him to Lethbridge in 1946. They
adopted their two sons in 1951 and raised them in Lethbridge. Margaret
was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. She is survived
by her two sons, Dr. Tim Porter-O'Grady of Atlanta, Georgia, USA and Joe
O'Grady of Calgary; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada.
Besides her loving husband Thomas, who passed away on January 14, 1995,
Margaret was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Porter and Dr. John Porter.
Cremation at MARTIN BROS. Chapel of Peace. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated
at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 1997 in St. Basil's Roman Catholic Church,
604 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge with Father Eric Nelson, Celebrant.

O'REILLY - Clifford E., born July 20, 1919. Passed away at his home on
November 26, 1997, with Olive, his wife of fifty-two years, by his side.
Olive and his two sons, Jack and Bob will lovingly remember him along
with their wives, Lucie and Jo-Anne; four grandchildren, Kevin, Heather,
Angela and Jack, of Calgary; and one sister Lois Winch of Hamilton, Ontario.
There will be no formal Funeral Services at this time, but a private celebration
of Cliff's life will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined,
but if friends so desire, a donation in his memory may be made to the

Nursing Home on December 3, 1997 at the age of 92 years. In living memory

December13, 1997 at the age of 80 years. She was predeceased by her husband

OATTS - Evelyn Isabella, aged 91 years, passed away at Central Park Lodge,
Calgary, Alberta, formerly of the Carmangay and Champion area, June 18,
1997, beloved mother and mother-in-law of Neal David and Hedy Oatts; dear
grandmother of David Dean Oatts, all of Calgary. She is also survived
by a sister Mrs. Mable McNabb, Lethbridge, Alberta. Mrs. Oatts was predeceased
by her husband Neal Francis Oatts in 1965. Private Services were held.

OBEE - Percy Neville Obee, beloved husband of Esther Obee of Calgary,
passed away at the Fanning Centre on June 13, 1997 at the age of 83 years.
Percy was an instructor of power engineering at S.A.I.T. for a number
of years. He also worked previously in the Turner Valley oil fields. Percy
will be remembered for his quick wit, humor and gentleness. Besides his
loving wife of fifty-three years, Percy will be lovingly remembered by
his son and daughter-in-law, Stu and Barb of Calgary; and his two cherished
grandsons, Sean and Scott. Percy will also be remembered by his brothers,
Brian and his wife Lil of Calgary, Clem of London, Ontario, Morley of
Cranbrook; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will

ODEGARD - Mr. Clarence W. Odegard, born December 1, 1935 in Sundial,
Alberta, passed away peacefully July 9, 1997 in Red Deer. He is survived
by his loving wife Dianna; sons, Chris (Brigitte), Brian (Christina);
daughter Karen (Gary) Carter; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is also survived by three sisters and several nieces and nephews. Clarence
was predeceased by his parents, four sisters and two brothers. He will

ODIN - John Peter Odin of Bethany Care Centre, Calgary, passed away on
December 9, 1997. Mr. John Odin was born June 28, 1903 in St. Petersberg,
Russia, arrived to Canada with Mr. and Mrs. John Harder and family in
1924. John was predeceased by his loving wife Freda, May 6, 1983, his
father John Odin, April 1907, mother Eleanor Odin, July 1918, and his
brother Alexander Odin. Those wishing to pay respects may do so on Thursday,
December 11, 1997 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Prayer Service at

OLIVER - Dr. Thomas Albert Oliver, beloved husband of Mrs. Margaret Oliver
of Calgary, passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 2, 1997,
at the age of 72 years. Details to follow (10/3/97).
OLSEN - Murray James passed away November 24, 1997, after a lengthy illness.
He was a lifetime resident of the Munson area. Murray was known as an
inventor, an artist, a collector, a historian and a good friend. He will
be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving family,
Les, Peg, Kevin and Angie, Dennis, Mike, Cheryl, Bryan; Coors the Cat;
special friends, Chris, Wendy, and Vi, along with numerous other friends.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Oscar and Laura Olsen, son
Mel and wife Margie. Funeral Services were held on November 26, 1997 in

OLSON - Constance Kathaleen Catherine Olson of Claresholm, passed away
at the Willow Creek Auxiliary Hospital and Nursing Home on October 29,

OSBORNE - Mrs. Jean Bruce of Qualicum Beach, BC. Passed away at her home
on Friday, July 4, 1997. Jean was born at Empress Hospital in eastern
Alberta, on December 17, 1926. Jean's parents farmed in the Bindloss area
until moving to Cochrane area and then to Stavely where she took the remainder
of her schooling. After leaving school, she worked in the London, Ont.
area before returning to her beloved Alberta where she found work in oilfield
related jobs. There she met her husband George. She traveled to many places
in the world with him in his work. Jean was predeceased by her first husband
Larry Capstick, and later by her beloved husband Geo. Osborne on December
11, 1981. Also by her father Robert Bruce Young on January 25, 1983 and
her mother Marion Bruce Young on December 14, 1996, and one niece Chrystal
Booth on June 28, 1986. Jean is survived by her loving son Bruce Capstick
and daughter-in-law Dorella and their two daughters, Jacintha and Stacey.
She is also survived by her sister Roberta (Pat) Casey; brother Bruce
(Helen) Young; sister Alix (Carl) Bondy; brother Bill and friend Joyce,
and sister Jocelyn (Howard) Obrand; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean
will also by sadly missed by her adopted friend John Onison, his family,
her stepdaughter Terry Osborne and her many friends and neighbors. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A
Memorial Service was held in Parksville, British Columbia on Saturday,

OSTEN - Max Osten passed away peacefully on November 24, 1997. He will
be lovingly remembered by his children, Shelly and Alex; his daughter-in-law

OTTO - Gerhard Karl passed away at the Rockview Hospital on September
13, 1997 at the age of 66 years. Gerhard is survived by his family in
Canada and his four sisters in Germany and one brother in El Salvador.
He was predeceased by his mother and father in Germany. Relatives and
friends are invited to Prayer Services at St. Boniface Catholic Church
1923 Broadview Road N.W. on Wednesday, September 17, 1997 at 7:00 p.m.

OULTON - Mrs. Helen Mary Oulton passed away peacefully at the Bow View
Manor in Calgary on November 27,1 997 just days after her 89th birthday.
Mary is survived by two sisters, Patricia Armstrong, lately of Calgary,
formerly of Windermere, B.C., and Audrey Whetham of Victoria, B.C. Also
left to mourn are numerous nephews and nieces and their families. Mary
was predeceased by her husband, Les, her parents Florence and William
Harris and her brother Bev Harris. Mary was born in Killarney, Manitoba
on November 24, 1908 and moved to Calgary at a young age. She and Les
spent many happy years in the Windermere Valley, at Columbia Lake, as
well as at Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island. A Memorial Service will be
held at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street
S.W.) on Thursday, December 4, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Taylor
officiating. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the
dedicated staff on the Beaverbrook and Crowfoot Wings of the Bow View
