HEIKKILA - Harri Eric passed away unexpectedly in an industrial accident on December 2, 1997 at the age of 28. Energy unlike many of us have experienced will be missed deeply. Harri had kinetic energy which over-flowed and affected us all. His drive brought us to the mountains, skiing, riding or hiking. Always ahead of the pack he was the best at whatever he did. He achieved his private pilot's license at the age of nineteen and soon had flown more hours than any of us could in a lifetime. He continued to pursue this passion and obtained his commercial pilot's license and recently became licensed as an aircraft maintenance engineer. Harri was known for perseverance in tough and sometimes impossible situations such as when he safely landed his plane with the wings bent out of shape after flying through some trees in inclement weather. Harri had the patience and persistence to bring perfection to anything he touched. We loved his intensity as much as we loved him as a son, brother and friend. His trust in friends brought close friendships even closer. He lived his dreams and was soon planning to start his own business. Harri will be missed immensely by his parents, Aulikki and Seppo; his sister Eeva and brother-in-law John Harrop; and many friends and colleagues here, as well as, friends and relatives in Finland.
