- A full-time professional genealogist with over 25 years of experience
and a varied international client base. As Senior Partner and Managing
Director of Gen-Find Research Associates,
Mr. Hutchison reflects a solid education history: university graduate,
professional accountant, post graduate work in paralegal studies and
Canadian history, genealogical certificate coursework with Brigham
Young University, and a board certified genealogist. Brian was elected
a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland in 1994 and granted
armorial bearings by the Chief Herald of Canada in that same year.
His membership with the Genealogical Speakers Guild and other international
organizations provides essential networking for maintenance of lecture
and research skills. As well, as an active teacher and author of
numerous manuscripts, Brian offers your society the opportunity
to hear lectures that display bold and proven research techniques
with helpful tips on numerous genealogical resources. His lecture
skills are consistent, creative and informal; his topics current,
concise and educational. He shares his varied experience with his
listeners many tips on under used records; how to access them, where
to find them, evaluating evidence, research methodologies for successful
20th century investigations; and much more.
As a certified specialist in genealogical research for Scotland,
Ireland, Ontario and Western Canada his interests are primarily
in these areas with particular emphasis on research methodologies
for successful 20th century investigations on forensic and heir
searches. Mr. Hutchison has lectured at many genealogical seminars
and conferences and enjoys sharing his zest for genealogy with his
listeners. His hope is that each will leave with new sources and
ideas and an enthusiasm to renew their search.
